UNDERSTANDING LOANS
When considering further education and adult learning it is advised to research the costs associated. However, although courses charge tuition fees, the cost of higher education needn't be daunting as there are now many options available to each student irradiating the need to pay upfront.
Student Finance England is the organisation who provide student loans across the country, to cover both the cost of tuition and the living costs associated with being a student.
TUITION FEE LOAN
This is a loan to cover the cost of tuition and it is paid directly to the university or college you will be studying at. All students are eligible for the full amount of loan to cover their tuition fees should they chose to accept, meaning there is no requirement to pay any money upfront.
MAINTENANCE LOAN
This loan is to cover the living costs associated with studying. This is a means tested loan, therefore the amount you receive will depend on your household income and factors such as whether you live at home or move out to live independently.
ADDITIONAL FINANCE
There is additional finance available for students with disabilities, those with adult or child dependants and those who are married.
